Sae-gaji-nong-ak (a kind of instrumental music of peasants performed in Saegaji village) and goyreongjwasa jisinbapgi (a kind of treading of the earth¡¯s god) are the distinct folk plays in the Goryeong region.

The former was autogenous and transmitted in Bongsan-ri Wugok-myeon Goryeong-gun. This derived from seo-nang-bajigut (a shaman ritual for calling a tutelary deity) which is performed at the house for sacrificial rite of this village on January 10th of the lunar calender. The instrumental music of peasants, which the name came from that of the village, is a peculiar music found only in the Goryeong region. Also, the treading of the earth¡¯s god has been performed in the Yeongnam region on January 15th of the lunar calendar and goyreongjwasa jisinbapgi is a special folk play which is not found in other regions.

Tug-of-war and the incineration of moon houses, which are performed on January 15th of the lunar calendar, are found in the Goryeong region like other regions.
